Mastering the Kitchen: The Rule That Defines Pickleball
Share
Welcome to the Kitchen (No Cooking Allowed)
If you're new to the sport, the "Kitchen" (formally known as the Non-Volley Zone) can be the most frustrating—and rewarding—part of the court. It’s the 7-foot area on both sides of the net where the real magic happens.
The Golden Rule
You cannot volley (hit the ball out of the air) while standing in the Kitchen. This rule prevents players from simply smashing the ball at the net, forcing a game of finesse and strategy.
To excel in the Kitchen, you need a paddle with a "Soft Touch." Our Classic Series is engineered with a honeycomb core that absorbs impact, giving you ultimate control over your dinks.
